The Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ was founded in 1958. We are dedicated to the real estate industry and private property rights. The Association is committed to establishing and maintaining direct positive relations with all members. Our membership consist of REALTORSŽ and Affiliates that "are recognized as the best real estate practitioners with the highest standards." The Association is overseen by a Board of Directors, ran by the Association Executive and staff, and is volunteer driven. What Your Local Association Can Do For You. . . CONTINUING EDUCATION The Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ is an approved school of the Georgia Real Estate Commission and is able to offer continuing education courses. Enough courses are held throughout the year to fulfill the practical education needs of the membership. We provide a wide variety of courses at a low cost to the members. COMMUNICATION & PUBLIC RELATIONS THE NEWS LETTER The "athensrealtors.net" is the fundamental communication vehicle of the Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ. It is published twelve times per year and distributed to each member. This publication serves as a messenger for disseminating important local, state, and national information and a whole lot more! BOXES, FAXING & E-MAIL'S Companies are entitled to have a box at the Association office to distribute and receive information. Only members have access to the boxes. The Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ will often send important messages to it's members via fax or e-mail. The Association is currently working on a web-site that will soon be available for members to browse. PUBLIC RELATIONS The Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ is continually building REALTORŽ recognition through our public relations effort. By educating the local media and the public about the benefits of using a real estate professional for all of their real estate needs, the REALTORŽ image and logo are enhanced thus garnering more exposure for our REALTORŽ members! MEETINGS The Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ holds meetings for it's members monthly. The meetings are typically a lunch or a breakfast and offer beneficial industry related information, not to mention the networking opportunities. These meetings are not all work and no play! We hold an annual awards banquet, picnic, Christmas party, and have been known to attend an Atlanta Braves game! Watch your newsletter for the next scheduled meeting. Unless a fee for attending is published, the meeting and meal is provided as part of your services. AWARDS AND RECOGNITION The Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ recognizes its members for their efforts through a variety of awards. These awards include: REALTORŽ of the Year Affiliate of the Year New Face of the Year Lifetime Meritorious Service Award Most Creative Sale Award Phoenix Club Million Dollar Club LIBRARY The Association currently offers access to the Association library. Real estate related books, video tapes, and cassette tapes may be checked out and then returned a few weeks later. OTHER MEMBER SERVICES On a continuing basis, the Association is developing new services to meet member needs. Selected marketing programs are developed and maintained to benefit the members, as well as, generate revenue. By generating revenue, it ensures members of the lowest possible Association dues. One popular source is the Association Store which members may purchase promotional items, marketing items, and more! COMMITTEE'S Our REALTORSŽ understand the importance of knowledge, participation, and community. WCR - Women's Council of REALTORSŽ CODE OF ETHICS ENFORCEMENT AND ARBITRATIONS The primary purpose of the Athens Area Association of REALTORSŽ is to enforce the Code of Ethics. The professional standards process is a very important part of the Association and helps to ensure honorable, faithful and competent service to clients, customers, and other members of the public.
